Beyond the Manual:
Transforming Employee Training Through Storytelling
Creative Concept, Design Direction, Motion Design, Video Editing
Vistra Energy, a prominent American electric power company, sought to reimagine its Code of Conduct training to create an engaging and memorable experience. Previous methods had been tedious and ineffective, leading to poor engagement and retention.
My role in this project was to lead the creative direction and design of the training modules, ensuring that the visual storytelling effectively communicated the complex material in a way that was both engaging and educational.
The dense nature of the material posed difficulties in ensuring comprehension among employees. Developing effective standards for your employees to adhere to is challenging if they are either too vague or overly legalistic. Overcoming this challenge required thinking outside the box and devising a creative concept that would captivate employees while effectively conveying the necessary information.

The result was a resounding success. Employees found themselves immersed in cinematic stories that made the ethical guidelines relatable and memorable. Engagement and retention significantly improved, as the new approach captured employees' attention and created a lasting impact.
Vistra Energy not only succeeded in conveying the importance of their Code of Conduct but also fostered a sense of connection and understanding among employees, solidifying the company's commitment to ethical practices.
